Wet n Wild Vegan List
See end of post for changelog.
There’s an FAQ link (located in the site footer) on the Wet n Wild (WnW) site that includes one question about vegan WnW products. The site promises that they are working towards making all of their products vegan in the future before beginning with the list of products that are vegan.
While WnW specifies which products contain carmine, they do not account for beeswax and lanolin. Quite a few so-called vegan products on the list contain one or both of these ingredients.
Don’t be discouraged. There are still a ton of vegan products by Wet n Wild! It’s great that there’s another easy to find animal-free products on the market to make veganism more accessible. I appreciate that WnW has gone out of their way and listed which products contain carmine, because it is useful. You just need to be aware that some products contain other animal-derived ingredients.
The list is now easier to find than in the past, and finally updated so we have a better idea of what’s truly vegan.
Taking the List with You
I keep my version of the list on Evernote so that I always have it with me on my phone. I’ve gone further, arranging the list numerically and using strikethrough on the products lines that aren’t vegan, like the Silk Finish Lipsticks, for ease of use.
I definitely recommend using a service like Evernote or Google Drive to access your vegan lists. It’s super helpful, easy to organize and immediately available to all your devices.
Of course, you can also simply print out the list.
Wet n Wild Vegan Products
I hadn’t intended to write up a vegan list for WnW, but realized the original was disorganized and inaccurate, depending on one’s perspective. Only the item numbers below should be carmine, beeswax, and lanolin free.
You can find the original vegan list on the Wet n Wild FAQ.

2016 Reformulated MegaSlicks Lip Gloss
I have had a very difficult time checking each shade. The good news is that are a few vegan shades still. The WNW FAQ lists the shades 552B & 558B as not vegan, but it looks like there a lot more that aren’t due to formulation.
2016 Reformulated 325B-329B ColorIcon Blush
In the past, the ColorIcon Blusher had a couple of vegan shades (832E Heather Silk + 833E Mellow Wine). However, all of the newly reformulated 2016 blushes list carmine as the ingredients, so I’m not sure if the old carmine-free shades are still vegan-friendly. Over the year Wet n Wild has changed their labeling so that certain shades that include carmine state will list it in the ingredients. For example, the ColorIcon 5 pan Eyeshadow Palettes have some shades that list carmine, while others do not (e.g., The Naked Truth does not list carmine in its ingredients and is vegan-friendly, whereas Art in the Streets lists carmine).
If anyone has had confirmation that any of the new blushes are vegan-friendly, please let me know.

Please keep in mind that there could be other hidden ingredients. Try contacting Wet n Wild directly if you are unsure about a product. If you feel really uncomfortable, don’t buy it.
I noticed that the MegaLast Liquid Lip Color contains synthetic beeswax. It could be that some of the other products containing beeswax may in fact be synthetic, but until there is a change on the ingredients listing, or I know for sure, I’m listing them all here.
Changelog:
7/1/2016: WNW has updated their vegan list! Now we have a better idea what is vegan, although there are still a few products that I’m convinced are vegan unaccounted for.
1/28/2016: WNW has done a huge major overhaul to a significant portion of their product lines, as well as adding tons of new products and discontinuing old favorites. I have product numbers for some of the new items, but not everything. It also appears that the Fergie CenterStage line has been discontinued, but some products have been moved to main line, like the eyeshadow primer. I need to track down all of the moved products, confirm they are still vegan friendly, before adding them to the site. I am trying to update this list as quickly and thoroughly as possible, but it is a process that will likely take months. Thank you for your understanding.
Update 2/26/2015: Moved MegaSlicks Lip Gloss 562B Cherry Glaze to the vegan list and added additional item numbers to the vegan mascara list. Updated Unconfirmed list with likely vegan contenders from the new 2015 product additions, including those from Walgreens and Wal-Mart. If a new 2015 product does not appear on any list below, it definitely contains lanolin, beeswax and/or carmine.
1/12/2014:I have updated the list with an unconfirmed category. This includes Wet n Wild products that are likely to be vegan, but have yet to be confirmed by the company.
Just nice blog site. It was very useful for me. Keep sharing this sort of ideas down the road as well. This is actually what I was looking for, and I am glad in order to came the following! Thanks for expressing the such information with us
Thanks! I was running out of pressed powder and wondering how to find out which shades had carmine…this is really helpful.
My pleasure!
Hello! Do you use Twitter? I’d like to follow you if that would be
okay. I’m definitely enjoying your blog and look forward to new updates.
I know they have Synthetic versions of Lanolin and beeswax. Are you sure Wet n Wild are using first hand sources of those compounds or are they using the mad made lab Component of it?
I am pretty sure that these are the real deal. When a company puts beeswax or lanolin on their labels, they typically mean it. It would be possible that it was a labeling error if Wet n Wild used synthetic ingredients across the board. However, some of the labels of the products listed on their official vegan list specify “Beeswax (Apis Mellifera)”, the Western Honey Bee, on the ingredients. Unfortunately, I don’t have enough influence to get WNW to reply to my messages to find out for sure (I’ve inquired about the vegan status of the Fergie BB Cream to no avail).
Actually, I would be really stoked if it turns out WNW was mislabeling their synthetics. But while I can’t say it definitely, considering how most of the products are labeled and the lack of any further clarification on the part of WNW, I’m fairly certain these are not synthetic ingredients.
Hi,
Thanks for the compilation. One question: for the mega last lip color, you wrote that shades 900B-919B were vegan, then you noted that those were all the shades. Is that from before? Because I have shades that are 900 something and then letters C or D. Do you know if these shades are also vegan?
Thank you.
Ah, yes, that wasn’t very clear. A lot of the current Megalast lipsticks in between shades 900B-919B have different letters after them other than B. As far as I know, all of the Megalast lipsticks in the main line have been vegan for some time. The only exceptions I’ve found were this year’s LE Halloween versions that listed carmine on the label.
Starting this year, Wet n Wild has been very good about labeling, even labeling shades in the same product differently depending on if they contain carmine. If you’re in doubt when looking at a new Megalast shade, you can check the label for carmine. Hope that helps!
That did help, thank you. Since I’d thrown away the wrapping and hence the labels, I looked online for the ingredients, and found them on drugstore.com. Thankfully, the ones I have are all carmine-free. 🙂
You didn’t say the Fergie On Edge Crème Liner contained animal bristles. Does that mean they are synthetic? I want to try it but I want to be sure the brush is vegan.
I can’t give you a definite answer as there’s not any real info from the company, nor do I own the Fergie On Edge Crème Liner. I can say that after looking at many photos online, and taking into consideration the color, smooth texture, and the tapered shape of the brush, the bristles appear to be Taklon. They don’t have the rough look of natural fibers. Again, I can’t say for certain, but that is my opinion on the matter.
Alright, thank you. I had heard that synthetic bristles tend to work better for liquid/gel stuff, so it would make sense. Still not sure if I’ll buy it.
Is the megalast lipstick in 911D (stoplight red) vegan?
As far as I understand the situation, yes, 911D Stoplight Red is vegan. 🙂
Do you know if the MegaRocks polishes are vegan? Thank you!
Hi! The MegaRocks polishes should be vegan.
Thanks for this list! I appreciate all of your work. I will print the list out and take it shopping with me!
Thanks! I’m glad you’ve found the list useful.
Hi. I was wondering if there eyeshadows were actually vegan. They all contain Magnesium Stearate. That is mostly cow driven but can be plant based. Help!
We are taking Wet n Wild at their word on this, but I personally don’t doubt them. I know a lot of vegan sites say that magnesium stearate is not always vegan, but in the cosmetics industry at least, that has not been my experience. TKB, a great source for cosmetic DIY, sells a vegan magnesium stearate. Even VRG states that it’s typically vegan and not standard practice to obtain it from animal fat. Hope that helps!
they don’t have the photo focus eye primer r on their website vegan list I was wondering if it was still vegan, would u happen to know??
I’m baffled as to why the new WNW eye primer is not on the vegan list. I have verified multiple times that the old and new ingredients are identical and personally consider the new product to be vegan-friendly. If the lack of confirmation bothers you, there’s always the e.l.f. primers that I know are vegan!
Thank you!!! I actually messaged Wet N Wild because I love their products but was pretty upset that they have their beeswax products labeled as vegan. I felt blown off by their response, but I appreciate that they’re trying. Your work here is amazing. Seriously…thank you so much!
Glad to have helped!
Hello! Do you know if Wet n wilds lipstick in color 24 carrot gold is vegan?
Hey, just a question about the MegaProtein mascara, I just looked at the ingredients and it says ”synthetic beeswax”, so no actual beeswax. Still, it could contain an oil derived from sheeps wool, but I don’t know if it’s used in this particular formula. Does anyone perhaps know?
Hey, what about megalast liquid catsuit 925B? Is that vegan? I can’t see the option in the above lists! Help me out
Hey. The colour icon eyeshadow trio has carmine 🙁
Hi I you said above that all the shades from the Mega Last Lip colour range is vegan but I checked on the product and it says that it is made in PRC and I have read that that beauty products made in China are tested on animals. What I found useful is that Wet n Wild has the cruelty free symbol on their products that are vegan and usually they are made in other countries like the UK.
Editor s note: Since this time, some ingredient formulas have changed. Wet n Wild does keep a vegan list on their website but some of the items included do contain animal ingredients (such as beeswax or lanolin). It s in the best interest of any vegan reader to read the ingredient list before purchasing. January 28, 2014
